New shipment just arrived and gearing up for CHA

Well, we just got a very large order in of 7 Gypsies gaffer tape, glue dots, more paper (as if we really needed it!), horse stuff, ooohhh and flocking from Doodlebug. We'll also get the flocked paper, we just couldn't fit it all on one order.

Let's see, new albums came in, our make and takes came in for next week's Kidz Day event in Green, and we got lots of new stickers!

You really need to see what came in, it is really exciting when we get a shipment, especially when we've been out of some things for sooo long. Please come see us soon!

We leave Wednesday afternoon for CHA in Chicago. If you need anything or would like us to look for something, please let us know by Tuesday so we can shop for you! See you soon!

Things are going well, thanks for asking!

Okay, you probably didn't ask, but many people do. Finally, things are starting to pick up and show an upside for 2008. I was beginning to wonder if the upswing would ever happen. We had a really good day on Saturday and really much of last week. This week seems to also be going alright although sales are a bit slower than last week.

On to recent news...
I attended, and spoke, at Louisville's city council meeting on Monday. I was nervous as heck but it went well. Here's the jist of what I'm trying to accomplish. I want to create a non-profit company to raise money for renovating and restoring downtown Louisville. I also want to create an historic district for the original part of downtown. This is not a simple task so it will take some doing, a lot of work, and some good support. So, I'll keep you updated as the status of the project and how things are moving along.

New arrivals from Basic Grey, Creative Imaginations... plus Secret Sale! Shhhhhh...

Okay, first and foremost, Basic Grey ROCKS! I just got new papers in from them and they are awesome! I got a few papers from the Boxer line, some from Sultry and Sugared, and some from Archaic. I got 6x6 paper pads, as these have been hugely popular for us and tend to sell quickly. I got chipboard stickers to coordinate with the papers. You just have to see how stinkin' cute this stuff is! The catalog really didn't do these lines justice.

Creative Imaginations finally sent the new swimming paper and stickers! FINALLY! Plus I got FFA and farming stickers, perfect for fair season, and boy and girl themed birthday paper and stickers. They've got cupcakes on them! They are adorable!

As you can tell, I'm really excited with these new arrivals but if I don't get some people in here, I can't keep ordering new stuff! So tell your friends we are having our baby sale all of April plus we're having a "Secret Sale" on Saturday. The sale item is the new Crop-a-dile Big Bite and it's on sale for $29.99 Saturday only! April is Baby Month!

The April schedule is finally uploaded. Woohoo!

April is Baby Month so everything baby is on sale and we have baby make and takes, classes, and projects. Now is a great time to get some ideas for that little one's scrapbook... even if they're not so little anymore!

Other classes include a design layout class to give you some ideas for page layouts you can reuse over and over again. We'll also re-run the photography classes and offer a couple of album classes.

Finally, we've got 2 acrylic album classes. These are the latest, hottest trend in scrapbooking. If you haven't played with acrylic, you're missing a ton of fun and some really unique layout ideas.

March Snowstorm Hits HARD!!

We are sitting here, freezing! The temperature feels like it dropped 20 degrees! It's snowing and snowing and has been all day. You can't see the road, there's got to be 6" out there and it's still snowing and blowing. We haven't seen a soul in here today so the puter's my new best friend. Oh and one of our lights popped and smells like stinky feet! EEEEWWWW!!!!! Well, tomorrow's another day!

Oh my gosh!! These things are way cool! We got our shipment of 12 in today and already sold 2. This new crop-a-dile is not nearly as huge as I thought it would be. It not only does 2 sizes of hole punches with a 6" reach, but it sets eyelets and the new Gromlets. We've got one open in the store to play with, please stop in!

Everybody can't possibly be done with Christmas shopping already??? I miss seeing all of my friends, customers, and those annoying people who just pop in every now and then... JUST KIDDING! I'm in a great mood. Hey! How about FREE make and takes!!! Hmmm... There's an idea! If you haven't been by the store, I'm in a giving mood so just ask me and we'll do a make and take. It's Sunday, and it's snowing

As promised, we are open on Sundays through December. The challenge today is to work on our class calendar and to get it online tomorrow. I'm anxiously awaiting several orders from Creative Imaginations and Notions (a distributor for a wide variety of things from stickers, and embellishments, to tools and storage.)

Friday we will be hosting our gift wrap crop. Bring your unwrapped gifts, wrapping paper and tape, and we'll swap paper, share stories, and use some of our tag dies to make tags for all those special gifts. Call ahead so we can have enough hot chocolate for everyone!

Settling in and gearing up for the New Year

Wow! What a year it's been already! I'm falling in love with all my customers and new friends who've come into the store. Hold on tight, because we've got a big schedule coming in January and February.

First, Creative Cafe is undergoing a facelift. We will offer 4 projects for the month, all released the first of the month and available until the last day or until kits are sold out. We are also going to "bulkify" more of the products. We will separate units into smaller pieces so you can buy only what you need.

Classes, classes, classes. We've rethought our class schedule and will be offering a greater variety of classes in the evenings and on weekends. We also are creating classes for younger scrappers including K-3rd grade, 6th-8th grade, and Teen classes and crop nights. We are looking for teens who have great class ideas to share to either teach the class, or just provide us with ideas.

Contests! Every month, we will have a page contest. Want to participate? Come into the store with your best ideas and we'll foot the bill! We'll give you an amount to spend to create your page, give you the use of the classroom for up to 2 hours to design and assemble your page, and showcase the completed pages for a contest to be held the last week of the month. You can win great prizes and gift cards for the store. January's theme will be winter. It's simple so I think you can be really creative with it.

Finally, start planning your Valentine's cards! We're ordering stamps and papers now so they'll be in for our January classes.

NEW!!! ATC swap! If you haven't already heard of altered trading cards, we'll be having a class on how to create them. And the fun part? You create the cards to swap with friends. You both will gain new, creative ideas and make lasting friendships in the process. The swaps will be held every month starting in February on Saturday mornings.

If you haven't been in the store lately, you need to stop in. We've gotten more stickers, embellishments, and there are albums on their way! If we don't have your email, you need to get it to us now! We'll be sending out weekly coupons to those on our email list. We must have your email for you to use the coupon.

Our holiday hours are in effect now through the end of the month. M-Th 10-7, Fri 10-10, Sat 9-7, Sun 1-6
